One of the most trimphant film making comebacks has to be George Miller's return to the Mad Max franchise after several decades. The troubled production history of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) was quickly forgotten once it hit movie theatres and made every typical Hollywood actioner look like they were from the dark ages thanks to its breathtaking stunts, spectacular vehicles and rampant mayhem – all set in what's arguably, the most beautiful realisation of a post-apocalyptic world ever seen on film.
Fast forward to the present day and George Miller is once more gearing up to release his latest chapter in the dystopian world of the road warrior next year. The new film is a prequel of sorts as it revolves around the origin of Mad Max: Fury Road's amazon(ian) driver Furiosa, originally played by Charlize Theron. The versatile Anya Taylor-Joy plays a younger version of the titular heroine this time around, and judging by its impressive trailer featuring a bent-nosed Chris Hemsworth as the villain and the return of Immortan Joe, this has me hyped for it already.
Cysed as fook.
ReplyDeleteMiller puttin' on for his countrymen with most of the main cast 👏
Totally forgot about Hemsworth’s natural accent until witnessing this trailer.
